One-on-one

One business at a time.

Six sessions on one workflow in your business, with you at the keyboard and me in the room. At the end you run it without me, because that was the point.

01 / Examples

Work like this, in a business like yours.

Four examples of the kind of thing we build, so you can picture it. Each one is a real week for someone. Or pick your own trade and problem.

The contractor whose estimates go quiet

You send estimates all week and half of them never answer. We build a list that knows which ones have gone quiet, drafts the follow-up in your own words, and takes a job off the list the moment it is won or lost. What you check on a Friday: how many estimates got a second touch within two days.

The seasonal business

The same customers need you every spring, and you chase them from memory. We turn last year's jobs into this year's call sheet, sorted by who is most likely to want you back, each with a short message that remembers what you did for them. What you check: how many of last season's customers you reached before the season opened.

The shop whose requests arrive in four places

Email, the website, messages and the phone, and you are the only one who knows what is waiting. We put everything that comes in on one ordered list, each with a reply drafted in your voice, and whoever has waited longest moves to the top. What you check: how many people are waiting for a reply right now.

The one-person service business

You are the owner, the office, and the one who does the work, and the same paperwork comes back every week. We build the version that writes itself from what you already did, so you read it, change a line, and send it. What you check: how many of the week's reports went out on Friday without you starting from a blank page.

02 / How it works

Six sessions

Every engagement runs the same shape. Here is all of it.

  1. We go through what you already run, and pick the one workflow that is leaking.
  2. We agree exactly what it should do, and which number tells you it is working.
  3. You build the first piece of it on your own screen, in the tools you already pay for.
  4. You write the words that go in it, in your voice.
  5. We break it on purpose and you fix it, so you know what to do when it happens for real.
  6. You take it over. I hand you the written version, and we agree what you check on a Friday.

03 / What you learn

What you can do afterwards, on your own.

The workflow is what you take home. This is what you learn while we build it.

  • How to use Claude Code at your own keyboard, for your own work.
  • How to think a decision through with AI beside you, and get further than you would alone.
  • How to generate ideas with it, and tell the good ones from the bad ones.
  • How to look at a workflow you already run and see where it can be improved.
  • How to save a workflow so you can run it again next week without rebuilding it.
  • How to stay in control of it, so it works for you rather than running ahead of you.

04 / What you leave with

What stays with you

  • The workflow itself, running in your own accounts.
  • A written version of it, so it survives you being away for a week.
  • The prompts, saved, in your words.
  • One number you check on a Friday.

05 / Yours

You stay in control, and it is built around you.

You stay in control

You are at the keyboard the whole time. You see what it is doing and why, and you learn to check its work rather than take it on trust. When it gets something wrong, you will know, and you will know what to do about it. Session five exists to make sure of that: we break it on purpose and you fix it. Nothing runs in your business that you do not understand.

Built around your business

There is no syllabus. The thirty-minute call is where we find the one thing in your business worth fixing first, and everything after that takes its shape from it: the workflow, the words in it, and the number we watch. The call is the first piece of the work.

06 / What it asks of you

Six hours of your time

Six live sessions, an hour each, with you at the keyboard and me in the room. There is work between them too.

That is more of your time than most people in this line ask for, and it is deliberate. You are the one who has to run this after I am gone, so you are the one who builds it.

07 / Who this is for

Whether this is for you

This is for you if

  • you are the bottleneck, and everything waits on you to get to it
  • the same work comes back every week and you have stopped noticing how long it takes
  • you have ideas for the business that never get past the idea
  • requests come in faster than you can answer them properly
  • you have tried an AI tool, got something generic back, and put it down
  • you run the business and can make the decision yourself

It may not be the right fit if

  • the tool you want changed belongs to an agency
  • what you want is someone to run it for you

If that is you, say so on the call and I will tell you what would fit better.

08 / Not yet

If you do not think you need this yet.

Most owners I talk to are not shopping for anything. The business works. The point of this is what becomes possible when the administrative work stops eating the week.

  • More requests answered properly, and answered faster.
  • The ideas you have had for years, tested in an afternoon instead of never.
  • A business organised well enough that you can be away from it for a week and come back to nothing on fire.

If that sounds like a nice idea for you, dedicate six hours to learn how to accomplish that.

09 / Who I am

Jacob Mendoza

Jacob Mendoza

I'm Jacob. I teach adults to use AI in the business they already run, live, on their own screen.

I am not an engineer. I run a small business myself, and I built its systems the way I will teach you to build yours: in plain English, at my own keyboard, one useful thing at a time.

I run Build It With AI, a live course of eight sessions where people build in their own accounts with me in the room, and I work one-to-one with owners who want one thing in their business fixed properly.

“It gives you answers that encourages you that ‘you can do it’ … It will amaze you to see Claude think and go through processes without requiring you to have knowledge of coding and programming.”

Gwendolyn · Build It With AI

“I'm surprised at how Jacob teaches in such a way that I'm actually getting to understand Claude Code better…”

Terri · Build It With AI

“It's a great idea to join. A group of like minded people in more ways than one 🙏🏾”

Terri · Build It With AI

“Don't be afraid. When you fear something, be willing to learn about it. You won't regret it.”

10 / Questions

Questions people ask

How much does it cost?

A fixed price for a fixed six sessions, agreed on the call before anything starts, and paid in two parts.

What if I already have someone doing this?

Keep them. This works alongside whoever already helps you, because it is about the one thing that never gets fixed: the work you redo every week. The call is where we find out whether that is worth six sessions or whether they can handle it with you.

What happens after the six sessions?

You will be fully equipped to run your workflow, and you will have built it understanding how to modify, adjust, and maintain it. If you need further help, feel free to reach out to me via email.

Do I need to know anything technical first?

You just need to know your business. Everything is explained in plain English, and at your own computer.

What if it does not work for my business?

I will let you know honestly in our call.

How much of my time does this take?

Six live hours, an hour a week, plus some work between sessions on your own. It is more than most people in this line ask for, and it is deliberate: you are the one who runs this afterwards, so you are the one who builds it.

11 / Book

Worth thirty minutes?

Tell me what happens over and over in your week and I will tell you whether this is a fit. If it is not, I will say so.
